Fabulous DIY Bejeweled Phone Case

How many times have our eyes gotten stuck on that lovely sparkly phone case as you scroll through Amazon? And, how many times have you just kept scrolling by because you know in your heart that the case itself is poor quality and your phone wouldn’t last one drop on the floor? I would spend hours shopping for a new iPhone case to match a specific aesthetic I was looking for, all the while needing a durable case as well and not finding one. Well, what is a crafty girl supposed to do? Make her own case, of course! But, where do you start when you want to bedazzle a phone case?

“If you’re anything like me, you like to leave a little shimmer everywhere you go.”

I’ve been wanting to try to make my own phone case for some time now. I always had thought about how cool and fun it would be to say “I made this” as other fans of sparkle ask me “where did you get this?”. Not many people can say that they made this gorgeous work of art and lived to tell the tale. Now, let’s wow yourself with your bedazzling skills. It only takes a little bit of shopping, some inspiration, teeny bit of planning, and some really good glue!

Let’s Talk Supplies

This first part may be easy for you, especially if you like to shop or already have a phone case that you would like to use. Because I really needed a new case at the point of designing this, I finally was determined enough to start with finding the perfect foundation . So, where do you think I started shopping first? Amazon of course! (Affiliate links: click the photos or links below to find the exact supplies that I used in the making of this tutorial .)

I decided to go with the Velvet Caviar Compatible with iPhone 13 Pro Case Iridescent White Opal. I found that this case was just as durable as the expensive brands but half the price so I was very willing to cover it’s natural beauty with crystals! I would encourage you to find a sturdy case that will fit your phone just right before adding your jewels.

“Who doesn’t love a little extra sparkle?”

Next step is to apply your Plain Popsocket or other phone grip type. This part is optional but I always prefer to have something to grip to when taking videos on the go. Shown below is my custom popsocket that I made by glueing this large metal broach to the back of the plain phone grip.

Now how about some gems? Hopefully you have a design layout in mind and know what colors you are looking for. I found most of my crystals on Amazon and then a few from local hobby stores like Hobby Lobby.

Diamond Art Pen

Having the most efficient supplies and hardware are the key to happily completing your project, For this type of diamond art, the pen and the glue are the most important. Of course I enjoy diamond art and resin jewelry making, so I have tested out many pens. Don’t get fooled by the flashy grip pens with the colorful handles! Try the Silhouette Pick-Me-Up! Here is why I love using this pen so much and why I feel so strongly about my recommendation.

-The tac is already in the tip of the pen.

-There is no need for picking at wax every couple taps.

-The tip is twistable and lasts for quite a while.

-It’s perfect for large or small project.

The next most important supply you will need is the glue! If you don’t use a good adhesive, you run the risk of all of your hard work falling off!! That is too much for me to think about and would break my heart. The best and most commonly used glue out there is the B6000 Jewelry Glue with Precision Tip. I recommend the fine tip because it will make your life so much easier when applying it to your surface. I did not have this type of application in my video tutorial and regretted it, like 100%.

Time to Get Started!!

Let’s get this party started! Prior to applying your gems and popsocket, be sure to clean the back of your case of any extra glitter or debri. Also, try to plan out a design and have your gems handy as you work. I like to use a diamond art tray but you can use what ever surface is easier for you.
